My phone just buzzed and woke me up at 2 am. Why? Because "Quiznos Toaster" felt it was necessary to remind me to buy a Quiznos Toasty Torpedo TODAY! At 2 am. However, according to the email, they are ONLY $4 each! |

May 1 - software engineering final paper May 4 - networks - 5 questions from each chapter May 4 - management website May 4 - software engineering final exam May 6 - write a 6 page good and evil paper May 8 - music final project I'm not worrying about the good and evil paper or the music final project yet. Top priority is the SE final paper, followed by all the May 4 items. Networks 5 questions from each chapter will be difficult and time consuming. Management website will take me a night to do well. I have the database done (woot!) and now I'm just waiting for someone to provide me with sample data. The software engineering exam will take me another night, but I suspect that it will be easier than any of the the AI homework assignments from last semester, so I hope that it will not take the whole weekend. However, mothers day and my birthday are also at the start of May so I'm going to have a hard time finding time. Still, this is not as hard as AI so I can't complain. |

| Reusable Writing | ||
|
This semester, one of the most useful things I've learned is about how to write papers such that you can reuse them. Most importantly, I have learned that you should try to make all reusable paragraphs generic with no acronyms. The more generic a paragraph is, the more easily it can be used. For example, I wrote a paper introduction and was able to reuse it in three different papers by changing one word just because it was so generic! Also, if you use acronyms, the following case can occur. You can have one paragraph define an acronym and the next paragraph use that acronym. Now, your paper has an order, and the first paragraph must always come before the next paragraph when you reuse those paragraphs. Instead, if you don't use acronyms, your paragraphs have no predefined order and can be placed interchangeably. These are obvious facts - they're just my observations and could be helpful to the many itmorr blog readers. |
